Looking for children's book reviews? Or do you just love children's books?
Either way, you're in the right place.

Welcome to English with Emma Claire, your home for all things English! Around here, you can expect to find honest book reviews and recommendations for children, whether you’re homeschooling, an elementary teacher (like me!), or are just looking for a book you can let your child read worry-free. I read and review books for all grades (K-12) and across multiple decades, although I do have an affinity for the classics and the elementary age range. I post concise thoughts and recommendations on my Instagram and Facebook pages, but if you’re interested in more details about why I would or would not recommend a book, I make blog posts here where I outline and scrutinize things such as story, characters, writing style, and theme (and maybe also nerdy details like cover art, font style, and how the book feels in your hands…surely I’m not the only one who cares about these things, right?).

Looking for elementary literacy materials to use in your classroom or homeschool? Be sure to check for links to my Teachers Pay Teachers page, where I sell elementary ELA resources applicable to many of the books I review here (I give away lots of freebies, too!).

"A children's story that can be only enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest."

ABOUT US

"Salutations are greetings. They're my fancy way of saying hello." - Charlotte's Web

Salutations! I’m Emma, the introvert behind English with Emma Claire. I recently graduated college with a B.S.E. in Early Childhood (K-5). I wanted to become a teacher because I love children and I’m passionate about making a positive difference in their lives. I especially love teaching reading and writing, and I’m a fan of all things children’s literature (especially the classics—if my Charlotte’s Web quote didn’t give that away already)
