meet emma
Salutations! I’m Emma, the introvert behind English with Emma Claire. I recently graduated college with a B.S.E. in Early Childhood (K-5). I wanted to become a teacher because I love children and I’m passionate about making a positive difference in their lives. I especially love teaching reading and writing, and I’m a fan of all things children’s literature (especially the classics—if my Charlotte’s Web quote didn’t give that away already).
As an avid reader, aspiring writer and editor, ex-college student, and teacher of tiny humans, I’ve got a little bit of everything around here. Feel free to stay awhile and find what you’re looking for—whether it’s children’s book reviews, a reading tutor, elementary literacy materials, or just somebody to who empathizes with your inordinate affection for words on the page. (I feel you.)
When I’m not reading or writing children’s stories (or watching the movie adaptations–The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, I’m looking at you), I’m playing hymns on the piano, taking long walks with my family and friends, or drinking iced coffee (with extra vanilla coldfoam, please).
Soli Deo Gloria
"I mostly always have to tell them what to write about, but that isn't hard for I've millions of ideas." -Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables)
My Mission
To provide parents, teachers, and readers with honest reviews and recommendations for appropriate, enjoyable books for their students, their children, and themselves.
My Values
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true…honest…just…pure…lovely…of good report; if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8
"Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for the meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for Him hath God the Father sealed."
John 6:27
You may have noticed the lavender theme around here. That’s because I’m working on my debut children’s novel, in which lavender plays an ever-present role. To get updates of my progress and follow along on my journey, be sure to check out my blog posts and follow me on Instagram.
